Coach Pete Farwell’s strategy for his Williams College women’s cross country team goes something like this: Stay patient, stick to your process, dig deep when the finish line grows nigh. In 2015, that philosophy served the Ephs well both during their season and in the Division III championship meet.

The Ephs captured the third national title in program history – but the first since 2004 – Nov. 21 in Winneconne, Wisconsin. Hannah Cole, who finished fourth in the overall standings, paced the Williams runners over the open and relatively flat course.

“Some days, everything clicks for a team or an individual,” said Farwell, who has coached Williams to all three of its national championships. “We were fortunate this season to have everybody stay healthy and be at their prime on that day. Everything came through.”
